TGCA looking for volunteers at community bingo

We’re looking for some help on community bingo nights. Bingo is one of the main ways the community association raises money to support the maintenance and services at the facility, but our bingo players are really important to us too and they are their own small community as well. When we’re shorthanded it makes bingo tougher on our dedicated staff and less enjoyable for our players too. Typically, we have participants of our fee assistance initiative working the bingo nights, but our registration for the shifts is quite low going into the new year.

We’re looking for folks (18+) to help out at our community bingo nights on either Sundays or Tuesdays or both-hopefully for at least a few nights but that’s not necessary. The shift is 4:45  – 9:30 pm and the tasks are pretty simple; mostly you’d be walking around, selling cards to players and having friendly chats. We’ve got a great team of bingo staff who will show you the ropes and get you up to speed and there’s no experience required.

We are in need of help for the following dates:
January 17, 22, 24
February 5, 7, 14, 19, 21
March 7, 12, 14, 21, 28
April 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 25, 30

We are happy to provide letters of recommendation detailing volunteer hours for those who have been dedicated volunteers at the centre, and volunteers also get a complimentary meal from the canteen, which has some pretty tasty options.

If you can pitch in, please email Vanessa v.gillard@tgcacalgary.com with your name and phone number and which dates you can volunteer for. You can also give us a call at 403-274-6840 if you have any questions at all.
