The Community Garden

Applications for 2025 season beds now closed
The TGCA community garden opened in 2024 to eager gardeners in Thorncliffe and Greenview. The project is the culmination of many months of work by the TGCA community garden committee, a sizable grant from The Canada Healthy Communities Initiative, and includes a community orchard project that is currently in progress.
The garden is on the south side of the community association. Adjacent to the community garden is the complimentary community orchard (in progress); a lawn bowling green (primarily coordinated by The Thornview Seniors 55+); the inclusive playground and surrounding gardens which include a picnic area and a little gallery showcasing local artists’ work year-round. The recent development of this outdoor community hub is a wonderful addition to the TGCA facility and grounds and has become a perfect place for the increasing numbers of young families moving to the area to connect.
The benefits of a communal space for gardening are well-documented and numerous, and the TGCA looks forward to seeing this micro-community grow and flourish over the coming years.
