The TGCA Office

The TGCA office is in the south building across from the main hall. Staff can help you with most purchases and payments and answer any questions you may have.

Hours of Operation: 9 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. 

Closed all stat and civic holidays.

To book a space at the TGCA we’ll need to know how many guest you’re expecting and the date you’re hoping to book to begin with. Call Rania Elkhatib at the number below or submit an inquiry on our site under “Spaces for Rent” or send an email to r.elkhatib@tgcacalgary.com.

The 56 Restaurant and Lounge/Rec Centre

The 56 is located on the south side of the centre, with its own dedicated entrance just below the seniors’ centre and access through the main building east stairs and the elevator. See the map on the bottom of this page for entrances. The 5-pin bowling alley and racquetball courts are adjacent to/paid for at the restaurant and can be booked online.

The 56 Restaurant, bowling alley & racquetball court summer hours: July & August the restaurant, bowling alley and racquetball courts are closed Sundays, as well as Friday, Saturday, Sunday on long weekends, including the Labour Day long weekend in September. Please note: The 56 will be closed until 5 pm on July 6.

The arena is located on the north side of the building, with ample parking and access on 56th Avenue/Northmount Dr.

The Skate Shop is now closed until late August.

Fun Kids Club Calgary - Before & After School Care

The Fun Kids Club is a private enterprise located on the lower floor of the south building. Entrance marked by yellow star in map below.

Thornview Seniors 55+ Centre

The seniors’ centre at the TGCA is a separate organization from the TGCA and has its own membership requirements. There are 2 floors of leisure space in the seniors’ centre, with amenities like snooker tables, fitness programs, organized games like cards and mah-jong, crafts and more. To participate at Thornview Senior you must be a member. 

The seniors’ centre is located on the south side of the building. There is a ramp and sliding door on the SSE side (green star in map below) and there is a dedicated entrance to the seniors’ centre on the southmost side of the building (blue star in map below). 

Facility Access & Layout Map

South building (Main Lobby) contains main hall, office, board room, Thorncliffe Room on the upper floor. The 56 restaurant, bowling alley, racquetball courts are on the lower floor. Fun Kids Club entered by yellow star.

Full access to upper & lower floor of south building: Disability parking/wheelchair ramp/elevator to lower level located on the SW side of the building (green star). The ramp leads to the main lobby sliding doors. Inside find the elevator as you’re passing the first doors to the gymnasium on the right. The elevator goes downstairs to the bowling alley, restaurant and racquetball courts. Bowling alley and 56 restaurant are accessible.

The mid-section of the building contains the Old Lobby, Horizon Room and 5600 Room (orange star) and is fully accessible by the east parking lot under the sign that says 5600 Room and Old Lobby entrance. 

The arena lobby (red star) is fully accessible by the north parking lot sliding door and although the stands are not accessible, there is accessible viewing adjacent to the arena lobby doors.

Disability parking available at the green, orange and red star locations. Entrances at these locations are fully accessible.

In addition to reporting crime to CPS, email us your crime concerns, and we’ll pass it on to our area CPS representative. The information we collect from the community will give local police a more contextualized perspective on local issues that concern residents.
