The TGCA has a full slate of programs and leagues on offer for Fall 2024. Everyone -residents and non-residents- is invited to participate at the TGCA, but you’ll get a great discount as a member for some of our programs and facilities.

Adult/Senior Programs & Leagues

Hatha Yoga is a mindful, lightly flowing class that builds strength, flexibility and breath work, and a very popular class at the TGCA due to the great instructor and excellent member pricing.

The quilting program is a great place to meet some like-minded, crafty folks in the area. There are several quilters that participate in this small program that have plenty of knowledge to share and stories to tell.
This program is in the Thorncliffe Room next to the office in the south building every Wednesday, 10:30 am – 4:30 pm. Fee: $12+tax.

Come and enjoy some coffee or tea, biscuits, and company in the boardroom on Tuesdays. There’s a variety of board games, puzzles and playing cards for participants to use. Come by yourself, meet a friend there, meet some new people, or connect with old friends.

The racquetball league players are a fun bunch and often enjoy a bite and a beverage in our restaurant after their games. The league nights are on Monday and Wednesday every week between 5 – 9 pm. You can play Monday or Wednesday or both. Sounds great, right?

Status: REGISTRATION CLOSED
The TGCA has three leagues: Monday night – intermediate, Wednesday night – recreational, Thursday night – competitive and you must be 18 years of age and up to play in this adult league.
Play is at 8:30 pm and 9:45 pm in the gymnasium, and some nights, you may play both times. The seasons for this league run Fall to Spring, with a break at Christmas.

Looking for a good time every week that doesn’t break the bank? 5-pin bowling is a super fun, simple game that anyone of any age can learn. This is a recreational league for adult TGCA members only, so make sure your membership is active! Win the league trophy and prizes, not to mention league bragging rights, glory for the champs, and enjoy a windup party with a meal on the TGCA too!

This class will increase your range of motion and improve strength and flexibility, you’ll learn stretches and create balance in both your body and mind while combining a fusion of general exercise and yoga while seated, with an option to do standing poses too. It’s a great class for those that aren’t as mobile or are looking to get some exercise in a low-impact environment.

Fall 2024 class details announced. New class length of 1 1/2 hours and 6 dates each! Learning a new method of expression is a great way to explore your creativity, meet new people in the community and keep your mind keen while relieving stress. The TGCA will feature various forms of artistic classes in Fall 2024, and we invite you to come and communicate what’s in your mind through line, colour and form while expanding your self-confidence and skill in a safe and nonjudgmental environment.
With a new instructor and refreshed class selection, there’s sure to be an art class for you this Fall!

Kids/Youth Programs & Leagues

This weekly program is a great opportunity for the kids to blow off some steam in a supervised environment, giving parents an opportunity to use our facilities, do an errand, enjoy our wing night in The 56 or just take some much deserved you-time.

The TGCA is pleased to continue offering kids art classes for Fall 2024. Our classes are for ages 5 – 8 & 9 – 12 on Sundays, beginning September 15. This Fall the subject and focus of the kids’ classes is character drawing or cartooning, and we have some program updates for returning parents: classes will be extended from 1 to 1.5 hours per date for the Fall 2024 program with the same 5 date structure and fees will be adjusted accordingly.

The TGCA is excited to offer new teen art classes for ages 13 – 16 on Friday afternoons in a 1.5 hour format.
The instructor, Dane Thibeault, will lead classes through skill appropriate art concepts and methods in project-based classes in which students can choose a project that appeals to them to practice techniques and mediums. Students can look forward to completing a project like: a comic book page, a posters, or an animated flip book, and expect a fun and engaging class where they’re encouraged to discover their individual talents and explore their imaginations.
