Upcoming TGCA Events

The TGCA is known for the number of events we put on every year and this year is certainly no different. Whether you want to contribute to local planning and development, plan your spring cleaning, enjoy a night of dancing, make a little money, browse a community market, or kick up your heels and say “Yahoo!” we’ve got an event coming up for you.

Winterfest Family Dance, February 21

This family event is an evening of magic and family fun! Families can get their included hotdog and chips meals from the concession and then enjoy a magic show performed by Calgary’s Christopher Cool, and then it’s time to boogie on the dance floor to all your favourite pop classics. Admission is on sale now! Info/online admission here.

Neighbourhood Planning Workshop, March 7

In partnership with North Haven Community Association and the University of Calgary, the TGCA is participating in an urban design study. The study is a unique opportunity to identify planning challenges in our community, such as density, physical planning, urban design and land use. Community members are invited to attend a neighbourhood planning workshop in order to contribute their perspectives to the project. More info here.

Saturday Night Social featuring Curious George, April 25

Calgary’s favourite local band are back at the TGCA this spring to raise some money for a good cause – the TGCA! Saturday Night Social is an ongoing concert fundraiser series featuring local talent in our main hall. Admission is always affordable and the concession and bar are open all night! Look for more info on this event coming soon.

TGCA Volunteer Appreciation, May 1

Last year’s appreciation event was the first that we’ve done in quite some time but volunteers can now look forward to an exciting outing every year. In 2025 it was a dinner and comedy showcase in the main hall, and there was lots of laughter and high-jinx all night. This is an invite only event for recent TGCA volunteers, so look for announcements and an invite in your email if you invest your time at the TGCA.

Parade of Garage Sales, May 16

Who doesn’t have some great stuff laying around? This event is an opportunity to go through all that stuff you ordered, open up the storage closet, and dig through the garage and make some moolah! This neighbourhood-wide event is a great way to meet your neighbours and catch up with the ones you already know whether you’re a shopper or a seller. Look for more info and sale registration coming in April.

Neighbour Day at the TGCA, June 20

Neighbour Day is the third Saturday every June and the TGCA always has some great ways to connect with neighbours. Typically, you can expect an outdoor market, lunch service, food trucks, and some kind of featured activity, like the Calgary Wildlife workshops we had last year. This is a free event so bring the whole family and let’s support local together at the community centre! Vendor registration is free and opens in May.

Stampede Yahoo, July 4

Put on your Western duds and come to the TGCA for some good eats, great activities and live entertainment. This event is an all-day extravaganza of activities like: a pancake breakfast, live music all day, beer gardens and BBQ, and the Kids’ Fun Zone complete with bouncy castles, games, face painting and balloons! It’s always a rootin’ tootin’ good time, so invite all them cowpokes and don’t miss out!

Cleanup Depot, date to be determined

The annual Cleanup Depot is an opportunity to avoid that trip to the dump and bring a variety of items to the TGCA for disposal. Typical event services include: garbage trucks, electronics recycling, donations to a non-profit like Salvation Army, and metal recycling. The TGCA has not been notified of their allotted date by the City as this time. We will make announcements as soon as we’re notified.
