The TGCA would like to extend our congratulations to the Thornview Seniors 55+ seniors’ centre on their 50 Year Golden Jubilee. The celebration took place in the seniors’ centre on September 12 with a full house of organisation members and guests. In attendance was Calgary Mayor, Jyoti Gondek; Thornview Seniors 55+ President, Millie Lenyk; and TGCA President, Alison Abbott, as well as other board members and notable community leaders.

The occasion was marked by the singing of the Canadian anthem followed by opening remarks from President Lenyk, Mayor Gondek shared some sentiments, and then president Abbott also made note of the achievement and presented the seniors’ organisation with a commemorative plaque to celebrate the milestone.

Following the remarks, a slide show was presented and cake was served to the delight of guests and members alike.
