Are you planning on participating in the Fall 2024 playgroup at the TGCA? Are you a people person who values community and the developmental opportunities the playgroup offers?
The TGCA playgroup is new program at the TGCA that was built with community parents this year. The program is well supplied with equipment for babies and toddlers and has seen good participation so far.
See the program outline and info here.
To run this program effectively, the TGCA requires one playgroup leader volunteer. The volunteer leader is an important but fairly informal role to keep the group organized and ensure that participants are informed and getting the most out of the activities. The role is open to parents participating in the program who are interested in building community and see the value in the playgroup program’s main outcomes: connecting parents in the community to build supportive networks and create a positive developmental foundation for babies and toddlers. Essentially, this role is to oversee the operations of the playgroup during scheduled programming.
Does this sound like something you might be able to help with? Here’s what we need from our volunteer playgroup leader:
- Greet new participants in the program and answer any questions they may have.
- Ensure that all participating families are on the registration list.
- Open doors and set up equipment with other families.
- Coordinating any operational changes in the group in partnership with the TGCA.
- Ensure that families understand the expectations of the group.
TGCA Playgroup will continue on Wednesdays from 9 – noon and begins September 18 for the Fall 2024 session. As an incentive, the TGCA will waive all playgroup fees for the volunteer leader while they fill this role.
