Once again, it’s been a tougher year than most, and for struggling parents, being given the opportunity to see their children’s smiles during the holidays makes such a big difference all the way into the new year. Inspiring hope and excitement could make a serious difference in a family’s ability to cope with the rising costs of living. Our community can offer that hope by coming together and making this a holiday season worth remembering for some local families in need.

In partnership with Thorncliffe School, the TGCA has identified local families in need this holiday season, so we’re raising funds in the community, and we need your help.

Thanks to all the incredibly generous people in the area, the last two years we’ve been able to reach our fundraising goals AND add additional families too! This year we’re aiming for a $5000 goal for eight families.

The TGCA asks that you look at your giving budget this season to see if you can help these families in need. Giving truly is the spirit of the season.

We’re collecting donations of $20 and up until Nov. 31 and then giving the funds to the families (parents and their children) in the form of a cheque. We take Visa, Mastercard and Visa Debit on our site but you can donate over the phone with credit or with cash, debit and credit in the office too!

When donating, please input your name or your family’s name to indicate whether you’d like to be added to our list of generous donors for this annual fundraiser. If you would like to make an anonymous donation, please don’t put anything in that field. A donor list has been created to honour everyone who contributed to supporting these local families. Donors’ contributions will not be disclosed.

The deadline for donations is Nov. 30.
