Saturday, June 21, 11 am – 3 pm, 5600 Centre St. N in the south parking lot
It’s the 12th Annual Neighbour Day in Calgary and the TGCA has got some great ways to connect with neighbours this year. This is a free event so bring the whole family and let’s support local together at the community centre!
This year the TGCA welcomes Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society to our Neighbour Day celebrations. This organisation rescues and rehabilitates wildlife in our city while supporting conservation and education efforts. They will have an information booth in the market, as well as lead two informative talks about our wild neighbours, Owls and Marmots. More info in event schedule below.
Artist Meet & Greet! The TGCA is excited to be unveiling a new mural on the south side of the building this June. The mural artist, Sylvia Arthur, will be on hand to chat with community members about this exciting new piece of public art at the TGCA.
Neighbours please note: This is an outdoor event but if there’s very uncooperative/extreme weather, it will be moved indoors, so you can plan on coming no matter what the weather is like.
Parking in the north and east lots, pet-friendly event, bring a reusable shopping bag!

Whooo wants to learn about owls? The Owls and Pellets workshop uses videos, pictures, and biofacts to help you learn about owls in Alberta. How do owls hunt their prey? Are owls only active at night? Can they turn their head all the way around? Learn about this and more! This presentation is a HOOT! Students finish with an owl pellet dissection.

These charming dandelion eaters are a delightful sight on high elevation hikes. But how is climate change affecting their distribution? How do they fit into our ecosystem? What dangers do they face? This program includes a visit from Calgary Wildlife’s animal ambassador, Marmalade the hoary marmot.
