As we previously shared, Leslie has stepped down from being President after 18 successful years. Those of you who know Leslie, will recognize she doesn’t like attention or to be in the spotlight. But that won’t stop us for expressing our sincere thanks, gratitude, and admiration for 35 years of being a stalwart of the Thorncliffe-Greenview community.

Coach for summer sports
Fundraiser for summer sports
Bingo canteen cook

Ticket taker
Slo-pitch coordinator
Director of summer sports

President of TGCA
Over the years, Leslie has contributed immensely to the vibrancy and success of TGCA through her countless hours of volunteering, mentoring and leading. Working under Leslie’s guidance at the TGCA for the past 5 years has been really fulfilling. She leads with wisdom and confidence, and empowers community residents to build the neighbourhood that they envision. Her exemplary volunteering service is only matched by her good-natured demeanor and sense of humor. She’ll be missed around here but I expect we’ll see her often. Thank you, Leslie!
It has been an honor and privilege working with Leslie over these past years. Leslie is a wonderful example of a community leader and I have always appreciated her thoughtfulness in all she does. Her legacy and impact will continue to shine within the TGCA and community. Thank you Leslie for your stellar contribution, guidance and friendship.
We first met Leslie when our girls were in the Girl Guide programs and baseball. We wish you a future that fills all your wants and needs.
Thorncliffe has always been known for being one of the best run communities in the city of Calgary. The reason for this reputation, is the volunteers that continuously put in endless amounts of time and effort, to continue the legacy that has been built by people, before us! Leslie is one of those people who understood the meaning of community and the role the community plays in people’s lives. On behalf of my family, I want to say a very big thank you to Leslie for continuing to keep the TG legacy alive and well, but more importantly the caring and welcoming!
Thank you, Leslie!

For the last 17 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with Leslie. Her retirement as TGCA president marks the end of an incredible era. Leslie’s tenure isn’t only astonishing it is a legacy of volunteerism, dedication, vision, and an unselfish commitment to community.
From the moment Leslie got involved with the TGCA (in the 90’s) she demonstrated the ability to balance strength with compassion, decisiveness with empathy, and professionalism with genuine care for the members of the TGCA. Under Leslie’s leadership, the TGCA grew into something even more exceptional than it already was . Her vision continued to pave the way for progress, innovation, diversity, and unity. Her guidance ensured that we never lost sight of our values. Whether navigating challenges or celebrating milestones, Leslie’s calm demeanor and unwavering determination inspired everyone around her.
On a personal level, I’ve learned so much from Leslie. Her mentorship has been invaluable, shaping not only my career but also how I approach challenges in life. She taught me to lead with integrity, to listen before acting, and to always focus on the greater good.
Leslie’s departure leaves a space that will undoubtedly be difficult to fill, but her legacy will live on in every corner of TGCA. She has left us with more than just fond memories; she has given us a solid foundation and an extremely rare example of what volunteerism truly means.
As Leslie steps into a new chapter in her life. I want to thank her for everything she has done for TGCA, it’s membership and for me personally. She is more than a boss—she is a mentor, an amazing leader, and a friend.
Leslie, you will be deeply missed.
Wishing you and Robert all the happiness and relaxation you deserve.
With gratitude,
Kevin Kromm
