Call for local artist submissions

Are you an artist in the area? Do you know that there’s a mini-art-gallery at the TGCA inclusive playground? No? Here’s a bit of info from Calgary Arts Development (CAD).

Calgary City Council noted a lack of public art in northeast Calgary compared to other quadrants, passing a motion on October 13, 2020 to specifically identify and support public art projects in the northeast. The Northeast Public Art Initiative brings several public art projects to Calgary’s northeast communities, supports local artists, enhances northeast neighbourhoods and reflects the people who live in the communities where art will be located.
This initiative aims to build amazing spaces for people to come together and provides opportunities for local artists to showcase their talent while celebrating the diversity of art forms, people and cultures represented in northeast Calgary.
Whether you’re a painter, photographer or sculptor, this is an opportunity to share your creativity with the community and receive $1,035 for participation.

This year CAD will feature 10 mini galleries across northeast Calgary, showcasing 30 local artists per year over three exhibitions (Summer, Winter, Spring). Selected artists will receive $1,035 for their participation.
