The TGCA is excited to announce our 2025 casino fundraiser! This fundraiser is a community effort, and we need volunteers to help raise the funds that go toward the maintenance and upkeep of the community centre’s facilities, so we’re hoping we can count on you to work a shift or even two to support the TGCA in this imperative fundraiser.
This is a common fundraiser facilitated through the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis agency to benefit Alberta non-profits. The roles are very straightforward and there’s a meal included, so no need to worry about that! We want to let you know that you won’t be alone during your shift. Our dedicated advisor, Lea Lapka, will be on-site to guide you, answer questions, and make sure everything runs smoothly. Whether it’s your first time volunteering or you’re a seasoned pro, your contribution is a greatly appreciated necessity to support community building in our area.
Fundraiser dates: December 17 & 18
Casino location: ACE Casino Airport – 40 Aero Cres NE, Calgary, AB T2E 7Y5
Positions below – click the position to see the role responsibilities:
The role of the general manager is to supervise all aspects of the casino, ensuring the casino is conducted according to the laws. The general manager works closely with the casino facility games manager, and alternate general manager who assumes duties in the absence of the general manager.
The role of the banker is to supervise the cash cage. This includes documenting all cash cage transactions, ensuring the security of the chips and cash in the cash cage, and holding the cashiers accountable for the chips and cash they manage while on duty. The banker reports to the general manager and is responsible for cashiers and chip runners.
The cashier’s role is similar to a bank teller’s. The cashier interacts directly with casino players. Any transactions over $200 must be witnessed by the general manager, banker or cash cage advisor. The cashier reports to the banker and works with the general manager, banker, financial control supervisor, advisor, and casino players.
The chip runner opens and closes tables, delivers chip fills from the banker to game tables, delivers credits from game tables to the banker and may assist the general manager with other duties. The chip runner reports to the banker and works with the general manager and gaming table personnel.

Thanks so much for your consideration and support of the TGCA. We appreciate your investment of time in the community greatly. With the dates being what they are, this will be a tough casino to fill, so if you could encourage any friends or family to volunteer, we’d be so incredibly grateful. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns at all.
