58th Thorncliffe Scouts, November 2020

Our group has been very busy meeting outdoors and exploring the City’s hiking trails and having adventures. We are maintaining social distances, keeping safe. We would like to thank the community for supporting our bottle drive.

The cubs and scouts have been selecting different adventures. They joined forces with the cubs with the Corn Maze Harvest Lights, the group experienced the activity’s around the park then entered the Corn Maze at dusk. The two sections divided into three groups and explored the maze in the dark. They also joined forces to volunteer installing the flags at The Field of Crosses, honouring the fallen military in preparation for Remembrance Day.

The scouts went on the Calgary Ghost Walk through Inglewood and learned about haunted Calgary just before Halloween.

Staying outdoors they have been on hikes and had a camp fire.

The cubs went on the Calgary Ghost Walk after Halloween and have completed a bunch of hikes. They have been learning to start fires with flint and steel and knife safety. Had a night of tobogganing with the snow.

The beaver section has completed three hikes around Calgary. With the snow they had a night of tobogganing. With the change in weather they played soccer. They explored the Field of crosses learning about the sacrifice that Calgary military have done and honouring the fallen.
