Message from Wing Kei Care Centres:

Fencing has gone up around the Wing Kei Village site at 41 Ave and Centre Street N. As our
neighbours, you are likely curious to know what this development might mean and what you
can expect.
You will recall that City Council has approved the construction of Wing Kei Village. Phase One of
the Village will create new homes for 180 seniors in need of long-term care. We anticipate
welcoming residents into their new homes approximately two years from now – in late 2025 or
early in 2026.
To meet this target completion date, preparations are underway for construction to begin soon.
Wing Kei has been working diligently with the City of Calgary to secure all the required permits and agreements. We are also working with Enmax, Telus, ATCO and Rogers to coordinate the relocation of utilities and communications infrastructure. We want to minimize disruption and make the relocation effort as efficient as possible.
Planning is nearly complete. Construction equipment will show up on site for excavation work to
begin, likely before the end of March. However, because we depend on approvals and decision
from others, Wing Kei is not able at this time to say with certainty when this initial phase of
construction will start.
