Have you seen the transformation the electrical box on 56 Ave has undertaken? Thanks to local illustrator Mary Haasdyk and a grant she received from Activate YYC, we have a wonderful new illustrated asset map near the arena!

Mary consulted with community leaders and organizations, she visited schools and spoke with local children, and conducted a survey among residents to determine what the community feels are our local assets.

She went through a few iterations and this wonderful piece is what she created! It’s absolutely awesome. What an artistic and creative way to highlight our community’s assets and favourite spots.

Thanks so very much Mary! You’ve made the community just that much brighter while informing residents of what we have all around us.
