General info about The 56 Restaurant & Lounge
The restaurant and lounge at the The Thorncliffe Greenview Community Association, The 56 is the type of place where you might run into a friend you knew from the neighbourhood years ago or one you made just last week. We’re a hub and a hangout for the local and the newcomer alike.
The 56 is a full-service restaurant and lounge where you can order from our comprehensive menu, or catch up over a cocktail or a coffee. Enjoy our family-friendly atmosphere, community spirit, great prices, good eats, and a variety of options for entertainment.
The capacity of the room is 147, there are 8 televisions with the evening’s best games on, and we’ve got great billiard entertainment options, too. There’s also a jukebox with all your favourites on it!

Book your event at The 56! We can accommodate many varieties of events at the restaurant. For more information, please email restaurant manager, Wendy Worth, w.worth@tgcacalgary.com The 56 has the capacity to facilitate up to 100 members and guests for corporate or social events and operates at the leisure of its members. As such, the facility must remain open to the membership and is unable to close for private events.
recreation & entertainment
Darts – 6 dart boards in our well-lit billiards area. Ask the bartender for complimentary darts.
Pool – There are 2 pay tables with cues for $1 per game.
8 big screen TVs – There’s always a game on so if you’ve got a game in mind we can put it on one of our 8 screens.
Live Barn – This service is a live feed of what’s currently going on in the Forbes Innes Arena, ask the bartender if you can view it, or how you can view highlights of your game! Great for kids’ practices, if you want to grab some dinner while you watch.
Bowling – 4 lanes of 5-pin bowling. Great for parties, you can now book online.
Racquetball – 4 current well-maintained courts adjacent to The 56. Inquire with the bartender or book online.
Wallyball – This sport is played in the racquetball courts and is a version of volleyball played with a smaller ball on the walls of the courts. To rent a court and a ball, inquire with the bartender or book online.
Please note: equipment rentals may require that you leave an Alberta issued ID or credit card with the bartender.

The 56 is located on the south side of the centre, with its own dedicated entrance just below the seniors’ centre. You can also reach it through the main building east stairs, and the elevator.

Accessibility
Those with limited mobility can access The 56 with the ramp at the southwest Main Lobby entrance of the TGCA and then use the elevator to access the bowling alley and the restaurant.
