We’re nearing the final stretch of creating our beautiful new community garden, and we need your help to complete the last big task! We have 30 trees and shrubs to plant and we need to haul soil in and out of the garden.
Event details:
Dates: Friday, September 20th & Saturday, September 21st
Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. (Volunteers aren’t required the entire day. Please include your availability in your signup form.)
Location: TGCA Community Garden, south side of building by the playground
Refreshments: Cold beverages to be provided.
What we need:
- Volunteers to plant shrubs and trees.
- If you have a shovel or wheelbarrow, please bring them along!
- We’re also seeking volunteers with pickup trucks to help transport soil to the landfill, which is free to drop off.
Important notes:
- If you can’t stay the entire day, that’s okay! Just let us know how much time you can contribute in your signup form.
- Please dress appropriately for the day’s weather and be ready to work.
- The ground is tilled and ready for planting.
- We’ll be using snow from the arena for watering until restrictions are lifted on September 23rd, so the plants have the best chance to thrive.
Your help is crucial to completing the community garden project which enriches the whole neighbourhood. Let’s work together to finish strong and create a garden we can all be proud of!
