Plants were exchanged and knowledge was shared!
Thanks so much to the folks who came out to participate in this gardening event! It was a small crowd but the everyone seemed to get something out of it. The weather cooperated for the outdoor portion and the presentation in the Thorncliffe Room with Joanna from The Calgary Horticultural Society was enlightening.
Watch for other opportunities to participate in gardening events and activities at the centre in the coming months.
Thanks very much to Pamela Haskell, the TGCA board director, who coordinated the event; Joanna Tshudy, the expert on loan from the Calgary Horticultural Society, and to the TGCA staff that helped out.
Have a look at a few of the pics that Pamela got during the outdoor portion:

Also accepting donations of perennials for new gardeners not able to trade, as well as gardening tools for beginners.
A speaker from the Calgary Horticultural Society will be here to provide a hands-on demonstration for new gardeners and provide expert advice for experienced gardeners, so bring your questions too.
Meeting outside at the Thorncliffe Room entrance at TGCA, moving inside to the Old Lobby in case of extreme weather conditions. (See map at bottom of this page for entrances)
New or hope-to-be gardeners with no perennials to exchange are welcome! Come learn how to get started with perennials and pick up one donated by a member of the community (depending on supplies).
