Recently, the Thorncliffe Safeway at 5607 4th Street NW announced that in March of next year it would be rebranded as a Freshco. We have been hearing concerns about this change from residents who rely on and utilize this long-serving local amenity – specifically the deli, bakery, and floral departments and their staff, as Freshco does not offer these.

Concerned community members have launched a petition asking Safeway to reconsider this decision. The petition will be available to sign in the TGCA office (5600 Centre Street North, south building) during regular office hours of 9 am to 4 pm.
