TGCA has been advised of a proposed development for 5024 Centre Street North (lot adjacent to Golden Sands Restaurant).

The applicant is looking to change the land designation from the current C-N2 (Commercial – Neighbourhood District to M-X2 (Multi Residential – Medium Profile Commercial District) to accommodate a four- storey building with one level for retail use, three levels for residential apartments and underground parking. This is a land use designation change request and if approved by City Council it would then go to the development permit stage.

As part of the engagement process, residents on Thorncrest Road NE, Centre Street N, and Centre A Street NE should receive a direct mailout with information. We have also offered to the applicant to host an information session at the community centre for residents to attend.
