Deerfoot Trail Improvements Update

Via Councilor Chu’s office:

Dear Ward 4 Residents,

I wanted to share an email that we received regarding the Deerfoot Trail Improvements project.

FYI:

Hello Cllr. Sean Chu,

The Province of Alberta is advancing through procurement and construction on several north segments of the Deerfoot Trail Improvements project. Currently, the majority of work is occurring north of McKnight Blvd N.E.

Work at 64th Avenue is on schedule and the ramps from northbound Deerfoot Trail to west and eastbound 64 Avenue are expected to re-open by the end of June. The new northbound auxiliary lane is taking shape and the contractor will begin paving over the summer. Work at 11 Street and Beddington Trail is due to begin this month, while work at McKnight Blvd is expected to begin sometime this summer.

Members of the public are encouraged to:

1.       Visit ATEC’s project website for further information

2.       Register their email for future construction updates here.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions as construction continues. Additionally, feel free to pass on any feedback or comments you receive from the public. I can work to communicate any concerns back to the Province in our bi-weekly coordination meeting, or work to implement solutions with our internal mobility team to lessen impacts, where possible.
