TGCA Volunteer Opportunity: Soccer Facilitator

Do you love soccer and enjoy working with children and youth? The Thorncliffe Greenview Community Association is looking for a volunteer to help lead two soccer sessions during our Summer Club program.

Opportunity Details

  • Commitment: 2 dates (3 hours per session)
  • Location: Thorncliffe Greenview Community Association
  • Ages: Participants are 5-17 years old with a variety of skill levels and abilities.
  • Dates/time: Wednesday July 22 & Wednesday August 19 from 1 pm – 4 pm

About Summer Club
Summer Club is a free community program that provides children and youth with opportunities to stay active, build friendships, and have fun in a safe, inclusive environment. We’re looking for someone who can bring energy, encouragement, and a love of the game to our participants.

Volunteer Responsibilities

  • Lead fun, inclusive soccer drills and games
  • Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and participation
  • Adapt activities to accommodate different ages and skill levels
  • Work alongside Summer Club staff and volunteers to create a positive experience for all participants

Qualifications

  • Experience coaching, playing, or facilitating soccer with children and youth is preferred.
  • Comfortable working with participants ages 5-17.
  • Positive, patient, and enthusiastic.
  • Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (required).
