58th Thorncliffe Scouts Group is happy to announce the return to in person Scouting. We are now at stage two Covid-19 precautions for scouting, this allow us to meet outdoors maintaining social distances and mask use. We are limited to 10 individuals including our two leaders.
We have been meeting virtual and the youth were working on scouting skills at home. The cubs and scouts worked on making tinfoil cooking, one week they cook supper and the next dessert. The diversity of the meals were great, the youth research the recipes or created it on their own. We had some very successful results and some that were interesting. Doing this gave confidence and accomplishment to the youth.
Most of the beavers worked on the chief badge. They helped out with cooking part of the family meal. It was inspiring having the beavers describe their experience and seeing the excitement of them being able to accomplish something new.
Scouting is all about having experiences that they don’t get in school and exposing them to new adventures.
We accept registration all year. If you are interested contact Timothy.wallace@shaw.ca
